Leopard Print Flats -Obsession- Haulage
I’ve had a thing for animal print since I was a teenager, maybe even a baby, but can’t remember any photo’s of me wearing it. I know my mum wore fur jackets and sparkly jumpsuits which are all in now again.
In the late 90’s I wore a short leopard print mini, think I got it from Miss Selfridge.
It was my favorite thing to wear. I’m sure there are many photo’s of me in it, god forbid! If I come across a photo I’ll post it. I went to a Michael Jackson concert and remember that being part of my outfit with a black shirt and platform trainers. I also wore pink leopard print shirts and in the 90’s leopard blouses which I probably brought from New Look and Littlewoods, oh the memories.
I think seeing animal print on the high street always reminds me of soap stars wearing leopard or zebra prints. You can have the whole bar maid look going on.
Look at Kat Slater from Eastenders or Bet Lynch from Corrie.. they donned a combo of animal prints together.
So when animal print has been such a big thing for a couple of season’s I’m obsessed with animal print shoes. I enjoy wearing flats and my current obsession is leopard flats.
I got two pairs a few months back from Topshop and another pair of loafers from River Island.
These fabulous chelsea boots are from topshop $75
Hightops sneakers from Topshop $50
these beauties from River Island and were about 30 (GBP)
I reckon my affection for Leopard and animal prints is the animal inside of me!!! I bloody love an animal print mate. Bit of Pat Butcher any day for me!
Chanel Inspired Coco Cocoon bag – Haulage
I was shopping in Centruy 21 about three weeks ago and came across a bag similar to the Coco Cocoon bag. They had it in black and a dark grey. I picked up the black and it was love at first sight. I also love Lily Allen and when she was the ‘girl’ for this campaign I was sold. My bag cost me $35 and thought that was a bargain considering the actual price of a Chanel. I’d say it’s a small size one. I can pretend now I am Lily!
Who I’m loving right now? Rachel Zoe
A blog and photo’s I just started looking at today after my obsession with the Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo this morning. I downloaded season 3 from iTunes catching up as I used to watch the show, then my Mum told me she was watching her show and then I got hooked again.
Here’s her photo blog where Rachel posts twitpic style photo’s and blog about what she’s doing and where she’s going. Rachel is the ultimate Stylist, Designer and fashion mad woman who I love. She is completely essential in my life.

Knitwear- Haulage
This season I wanted to purchase some knitwear after being inspired by many of the chunky knits i’ve seen in magazines and in fall 2011 RTW.
This time I headed for the UK high Street to pick up some lower priced knits. I am based in Brooklyn in New York, but I seem to buy a majority of my clothes online from the UK.
I also picked up some knit items from the Missoni for Target line which are blogged about in a previous post. And also after buying my Icelandic jumper while in Reykjavik I’m all about the knitwear.
All of the jumpers/ sweaters I brought below are from New Look.
Metallic foil print jumper 24.99 (GBP)
Boxy Knit 24.99 GBP
Slubby Curved hem Jumper 22.99 GBP
Boxy Textured Jumper 24.99 GBP
Also just looking on the New Look site now at new Knitwear they have added and there are a few picks I might go for ( I will show them in a new post) especially the cranberry and burgundy colors. I’m so up for them!
Acne Pistol Boots- International Haulage
I saw these boots and fell in love. They are the Pistol Boots from Acne of Stockholm or just Acne if you are in the know. They are so simple, but extremely well constructed and just a classic edgy design. … Continue reading
Missoni For Target: Made in Italy- Haulage
Missoni For Target Launched on September 13th and I was right there!!
I have been a long running admirer of Missoni, though I haven’t been able to afford anything in the past.. I was actually looking for some ballet flats online months prior to collection for Target. Then came the Target collection and I was well up for it! As a fashionista of kinds. I have always loved designers who use bold colors, patterns, textures and layers to create a fun look. Also I’m a fan on heritage brands which have run in the family for years. Barbour, Mulberry you name it! Missoni is certainly one of them. I ilke that it’s a family business which I’m sure has stayed true to it’s heritage and original concepts over the years.
Looking through lookbooks online for their Target collection I set my eyes on a few things I liked. It wasn’t until I was lining up prior to the shop opening at 8am that I got a rush of excitement.
Running ( or doing a slow run, which sped up) with a groups of about 100 or so other women ( and Men) into the Target in Brooklyn. It was then I realized from seeing the initial display which was swooped on my a few hundred people what amazing things I would pick up. The quality is amazing, much comparable to RTW Missoni. For this is the real thing at a lower price point. The Missoni visionaries collaborated I’m sure very closely with the Target HQ teams in selecting and fabrics, colours and pieces for the collection.
Let’s get down to what I brought in store. I also ordered quite a few pieces online after being able to ‘feel’ how great the fabric was in person. I was in love with the wool pillow with loops. Such a unique piece that I’d see i’m sure in many a design magazine.
(This was mine and my friends cart at Target, before we sorted out what we would each buy)
I picked up in- store a knit coat, jumper dress, loopy pillow, makeup organizer and one hand towel.
Home stuff- I ordered a couple of towels. I picked up the purple, white & black hand towel in store, which matches the towel below. Brown and mustard throw, purple zig zag ottoman, wool loop pillow and passione shower curtain. I got a new bathroom rug by Target which has is beige and flower shower curtain hooks (which aren’t from the Missoni collection) but match nicely for a new bathroom set.
