Things I’ve spotted in Target

I’ve been shopping a lot more frequently in Target the past few weeks as I’m off on a trip to Panama soon.

So been on the hunt for spring/summer clothes and have done a fair bit of trying on … took a few photo’s of new things I’ve seen in store yesterday and over last weekend, once I spot a new item in Target I’m on it and my new thing is actually trying clothes on! I  brought a few of the items below and some basics from Old Navy which I will blog in my next post, enjoy!

IMAG5232

Green floaty skirt- around $24.99 – with a paperbag waist, would need to be worn higher on the waist or with a tight fitting tank/ camisole.

IMAG5230

Mint coloured shorts, they also came in a light pink/ blush colour- $19.99 a bargain! Might go back and get these!

IMAG5229

Tribal Romper shorts- around $22.99, this also came in a pink patterned style.

IMAG5228

Striped high/low dress- again around $22.99- the neck detail was really cool, has a cut out on the back top section. Forgot to try this on.

IMAG5227

Neon sandals- these also came in yellow and other patterns, but these stood out to me – around $15.,99

IMAG5201

Grey sweater dress with neon trim and drawstring- this was in the sale around $19. Quite nice fit and would go well with or without leggings and flips flops or canvas flat.

Stripe sweater with bright coral stripes- really cute, oversized ssweatshirt with lace detail, around $15 in the sale, I brought this!! I got some military green linen shorts from Old Navy and this went well with it.

IMAG5200

Leopard shirt dress with elastic waist and belt- really nice fit and easy to throw on with some sandals, around $27.99 and I brought this one

IMAG5199

Peach knit jumper- around $21.99, really light weight knit, to throw on over a tank or plain tee.

Target -SpringTrend Finds

Today I nipped into Target and we decided to have a browse at the clothing, since last week when they seemed to be changing over their ranges for Spring/ Summer… they have gotten in some great items! I actually am seeing trends that I see on ASOS  for example the polka dot and printed denim, Camo pants/ jackets, sweaters with prints, neon, bralets, matching tops and bottoms in same print, lots of oversized sweatshirts, digitial print florals,.

Few photo’s of things I picked out and liked, ended up not buying anything as I’m on a spending ‘ban’ of clothes, even though I have my eye on some key items!

IMAG5155

Bralet top which had a matching short pleated skirt – Merona

Camo stretch jeans/ pants- seen these a couple of times, but they feel nice to touch and have a ‘flip side’ reversible so are green and camo, two outfits in one pair.

IMAG5154

Studded collar sheer blouse- these have been done by Topshop, Asos, Miss Selfridge, Primak in the UK- you name the store and they have been done over there.. finally they have some in Target, this was $22.99 and also came in a bright blue. The fabric wasn’t too brilliant though.

IMAG5156

Camo Jacket- $34.99- a item I really want to get though the trend is only surfacing here in the States in mainstream shops.

I already have had a couple camo print coats over the past few years, but want one  similar to this, it’s a good weight for spring and seems sturdy enough, but still on the search. I’m not to fond of the drawstring waist.

IMAG5158

Neon cropped jacket- Mossimo

IMAG5162
Coral bag- very cute, think this was Merona- nice size and has a strap, was more coral in person.

IMAG5164

Merona- Ostritch texture bags, loved all of these, esp the navy with brown trim, look like brilliant quality. Prices ranged from 15.99- 24.99  The wallets were really nice also.

IMAG5165

American flag backpack, so cute! $29.99. I just got a camo version for $8.98 a few weeks back, so would either wait to see if these go on sale. They also had some aztec, leopard print versions too.

IMAG5166

Lastly I saw these patterned/ fluffy dog bed covers were on sale for $8.48 and they had two prints on sale, were $18.99.

Warby Parker Review- 5 Day, 5 Pairs at Home Try-on Program

So this week I decided to try out Warby Parker’s brilliant try on at home program.

I’m in the market for some new glasses and had come across them about a year back when I was searching for online prescription frames and lenses.

I wanted something different, not your normal opticians selection which have their own range and then also a designer range which I have brought before. Even trying them in store I wasn’t completely satisfied, you feel rushed and ended up getting glasses I don’t wear now. (I got mine from Boots in the UK).

My glasses I wear now were from a relatively new similar company Eye Fly. And that was a great experience. The thought of ordering glasses online without trying them on can be daunting. All the things go through your head, will my face be too small/ wide, will they be the right shape..and will I look like a complete fool! Choosing glasses is hard, but the new concept of ordering frames and lenses online works.

Well Eyefly does a virtual try on whereby you upload a photo to the site and then proceed to fit the virtual glasses onto your uploaded photo. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I also noted a lot of online retailers having a live fit model either on a runway like ASOS or moving around in the garment on video. This seems like the next step of many in online retailing.

Warby Parker has virtual try on but they also take it a step further with the 5 pairs, 5 days, try on at home program! Much like ordering clothes online, you can check your fit.

With a few clicks of a mouse and entering in my info, they were winging their way to me. And it’s all FREE!!! Free shipping and free returns.

My box came a few days ago via UPS so I am on ‘day three‘ now and what I will say is I am completely satisfied and amazed at how well it all works. I tried them all on.. showed my family/friends and took some photo’s to give them a test run.

I can’t wait to order my frames!! Pshhh I already chose them the first day from the 5 and you can do it again if you can’t decide from the first five.

I was so excited receiving the box and it was all amazingly packaged. Comes in a returnable UPS box with return sticker (free shipping) for when your 5 days are up and then inside a black hard glasses box to 5 pairs to keep them all in top condition.

My selection of 5 to try-

Roosevelt Bondi Blue

Preston Sandalwood Matte

Roosevelt Revolver Black Matte

Tenley Burgundy Fade

Wiloughby Tennessee Whiskey

And here is me with all pairs on to compare:

Overall I was really impressed with the home try on and in the first 5 chose the ones I will go on to order with my prescription. So I’ll be popping the samples back in the post and ordering this week I should think.  Another great thing about Warby is they donate a pair of glasses for every pair purchased. Not only are you doing yourself a favor, you’re helping someone in need.

And the biggest bonus of all is the price, the all retail at $95!!  They do men’s and women’s frames and are pretty much unisex.

As I own a black framed pair from Eyefly which have a tortishell arm and black frame , my choice is based on wanting something to change up my look every other day. Current frames see below-

I am going to go with a pop of colour and the Roosevelt Bondi Blue as I like the width of the frame aswell as the colour. I like the name too!

It’s nice to add something extra to your outfit, even with your eyewear.. Pop’s of colour are in for spring 2012 too if that matters to you. I’m ready to get out of these winter colors now warmer weather is here.

My inspiration for choosing the Roosevelt Bondi Blue!
